Asylum in France is of two types:
1- In the first type of asylum seekers get a one-year protection and can be renewed annually.
2- In the second type, asylum seekers will get a ten-year residence.

If you made your request in Paris, then you will have to waite for about 12 months before your receive the answer. But, if your request is made outside Paris, then the waiting time ranges from 2 months to 7 months.
