What Is The Procedure To Apply For Study In Japan?

Japan is a developed a country and it attracts more and more foreign students from different countries every year to go and experience study at one of it's universities or universities. The Japanese culture is appreciated by French students, who show interest in studying in Japan. However, it requires much motivation to study in Japan and understand the different steps to follow to be able to study there.

There are two possible ways for the French students, who wish to study in Japan:

- The registration at a Japanese university as a foreign student without partnership.

- The registration at a Japanese university within the framework of a partnership.

1- Joining a Japanese university as a foreign student without partnership:

Foreign students wishing to join a university in Japan outside the framework of an agreement or partnership have to take a test called EJU (Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students,) to estimate their general level, but also their level in Japanese language. In France, the EJU test can be taken twice a year and this has been the case since 2002, and it addresses the French students wishing to join a program of one year minimum at a Japanese university. The EJU test consists of the following:

- Test of Japanese as foreign language.

- A test of sciences or a test of culture at choice on Japan and its link with the world.

- A mathematics test.

However, all the universities in Japan do not recognize necessarily this test, and the choice remains varied enough so that you can manage to find a university which interests you.

2- Joining a Japanese university within the framework of an agreement or partnership:

In case you wish to leave to study in Japan within the framework of a partnership, hundreds of French educational establishments possess agreements of exchanges with Japanese universities, and can integrate you into the French-speaking program.

The French university or educational establishmenrt will help you in your steps to obtain the necessary documents for your departure, but the formalities are easily feasible by oneself. Once accepted, you will have to start the procedure to obtain a study visa for Japan.
