The Working Conditions And Social Security In USA!

Different people from arround the world, wish to work and live in the USA and make the American dream come true. This article will will explain the working conditions and social security in the USA.

A- The working conditions in USA:

The United States of America is called the land of opportunities, and, at the same time, it is called also the country of the hire and fire, because you could be so fast fired from work as you were hired. This situation is due to the weak influence of labor unions and to the liberalized labor market.

Americans people are hard workers and capable of managing an immense workload. It is not unusual to work 50 hours a week and vacation is generally shorter than in Europe. The low-income people often accumulate various jobs to make sufficient money to survive. However, there are also numerous employers outside big cities, in particular, who help their employees, by offering them, for example, sporting programs at the expense of the company or by putting at their disposal apartments provided with the job.

B- Social Security in USA:

Any professional activity in the USA is subjected to the welfare, and the employers take contributions from salaries. The American welfare includes services such as: retirement pensions, allowances of death and incapacity as well as unemployment benefits and social allowances. The health insurance is always optional and consequently is not generally covered by the system of welfare.

In any case, numerous employees are covered by a health care insurance of a group under the responsibility of their employer. In certain circumstances, the employer assumes only the costs or these are,on the contrary, shared between the employee and his employer. As an employee, you will, however, need a complementary health care insurance because numerous medical treatments and a lot of medicines are not covered by the insurances, which the employers pay.

It is, thus, essential to compare the various plans which are offered to you because the area of the allowances varies a great deal from one insurance company to the other. Another big advantage of the additional insurance is that you keep yourself covered, even if you lose your employment. If, for example, you work on irregular basis, as independent or internal, you have to assume yourself your health care insurance.

How To Find And Apply For A Job In The USA?

Highly qualified individuals, who wish to find a job in the USA, have more chances if they are specialized in a sector that is in great demand such as the service sector (education, medicine, computing, engineering and research).

However, the increasing globalization led many companies to relocate not only their installations of production but also all their departments of computing or engineering towards countries in Asia and South America, because they have low income their. Therefore, people specialized in computing have to face a competition more bitter than in the past during the golden time of the new economy. The only thing to do is to remain attentive and to apply constantly in various jobs and, with a little luck, you will find the job of your dreams.

If you enter the USA on a tourist visa, you are not authorized to look for a job if you entered in the USA with a tourist visa, so, it's advised that you try to search for a job from your home. Consult the job websites and use your contacts to send unsolicited applications. Also, you may need to travel to the USA if you are invited in a job interview.

Your application for a job in the USA should be:

1- Clear and concise.

2- You have to present the elements of your inverse in a chronological ordered CV, so that it begins with your last employment.

3- Be politically correct and mention no religious belief and no ethnic origin.

4- It is not either the custom to attach a photo.

5- You have to mention your qualifications and your work experience, but also provide references as the American employers always expect to find them in an application letter.

Make sure that the people, whom you refer to are informed about your initiative and that they agree to support you, because a potential employer could call them and ask them about your qualifications. Furthermore, he can be sensible to send any documents, which underline your character and your personality, such as a portfolio of your realizations, your charity works, etc.

Although the social interactions in the USA seem rather informal  compared with the European practices, be discreet and try to avoid raising sensitive subjects during relaxed conversations. The dress code is usually very formal, and men and women have to appeare in a suit.

How To Obtain A Residence Permit And A Work Permit In The USA?

Many people dream of travelling and staying in the United States of America, because it's the land of opportunities. If you wish to stay in the USA, you should think carefully about what you will make for it. Are you planning to simply stay for a few years or you want to make it your second home country forever? is it your company that sends you there or is sipmly that you are looking for a job there or do you want to start a business in the USA?

It is possible, in some cases, to enter in the USA without a visa but you can stay there only for 90 days. Beyond that, almost all the professional situations are subjected to various types of visas. H1-B-Visa is the most frequent work visa and is delivered only to the people in possession of a university degree or in possession of comparable qualifications.

On the other hand, there are special visas for the less qualified workers or for certain occupations such as: farm workers, teaching labourers, etc. If your company sends you, you have to make an application for another visa, just like a person who wants to start a business, etc. It is imperative then that you know, in advance, the type of application which you have to make.

The workers who were not sent by their company need a concrete job offer. Then, the US employer has to supply to the US Department of Labour the proof that he cannot find an American employee holding the same qualifications. It is only after this that you can make your working visa application. Furthermore, the USA have a very restrictive system of preferences regarding the delivery of working visas.

If you overcame these obstacles and managed to obtain a visa, you will get finally a work permit and a residence permit too. The visa H1-B, will give the right to a residence permit, which will expire after 6 years. Other visas concerning other occupations are sometimes subjected to a different period of validity. After the deadline, you can apply for an extension of your residence permit and work permit or the green card.
