In Brazil, there are several types of work visas according to your profession and when you waish to travl to Brazil. But, generally, the work visas can be classified into types: temporary visas and permanent visas.
A- Temporary work visa or (Visto Temporario V)
In this type of work visas, foreign employees will be issued a temporary work visa that is valid for two years. An extension of this type of visa is possible and an application should be made, at least, one month before the expiration of the first visa. After four years of residence in Brazil, the company you are working with can make you an application for a permanent visa. If you hold a temporary visa, you shouldknow that you don't have the right to change employer without authorization.
In general, visas and work permits are delivered only to foreign workers, whose future employer is a Brazilian company. B- Permanent work visa or (Visto Permanente)
A permanent work visa is often delivered to foreigners workers, who have the right of permanent residence in Brazil. In general, this regulation applies to:
- Researchers or professional scientists for an activity of more than two years.
- Investors, if the investment exceeds $US50000 for the people, and $US200000 for companies.
- Managers or directors.
