How To Get A Student Visa For China?


When a student receives a letter of admission from a Chinese university, he, then, can begin the procedure of applying for a student visa. There are three types of student visas for China, and the choice is made according to the duration of desired stay in the country. These student visas are:


1- Visa-X: it addresses the students staying more than 6 months on the Chinese territory.

2- Visa-F: it addresses students staying less than 6 months in China. 


3- Visa-L: this type of visa addresses the tourists, but certain students who are late in the steps to obtain a visa-X or visa-F, can make a request to go in China and begin the program of study before obtaining the visa corresponding to their project.


Visa-X and Visa-F for foreign students in China:

Visa-X and Visa-f are similar in the rights given China, except the legal duration of the stay. So Visa-X addresses all students staying to study for, at least, one complete academic year in China. While Visa-F addresses students who stuyding for only a half-year, or are taking  Chinese courses in language school. Both types of visas are also valid for the students wishing to make an internship in a Chinese company.

Once you are admitted in a study program of your choice in Chinese university, it will send you documents to be filled. After you prepare the following documents, you will send them to the Chinese embassy that is close to you:

1- The visa application documents sent by your university completely filled. 

2- A copy of the pages of information of your passport, which has to have at least another 6 months of validity, and an available blank page, because the Chinese visa takes a complete page. 


3- A recent passport-size photo.

4- The original letter of admission you got from the university, which you will keep afterward as well as a copy of it.


The procedure time for obtaining a student visa is between 2 to 4 weeks, from application to tto the reception of your letter of admission and the package of the university.

Visa-L for late applying students in China:


Students not having time to end the steps of study application, can apply for visa - L,which is intended to tourists staying less than 2 months on the Chinese territory. The required documents are similar to the other visas, at least the letter of admission of a Chinese university.

Before taking these steps, ask for the authorization of the university to assure that afterward the educational establishment will help you to obtain Visa-X or Visa-F which you need. And it's always better to take the different steps in time.
