How To Obtain A Working Visa In Qatar?

In this article, I am going to take you to a country that lies halfway along the West Coast of the Arabian Gulf, east of the Arabian Peninsula. This country is the State of Qatar. It is ranked by The Global Peace Index as one of 30 most peaceful countries in the world, and the most peaceful in the MENA region. The petroleum and liquefied natural gas are the cornerstones of Qatar's economy and account for more than 70% of total government revenue. The natural resources made Qatar a rich country and this can be traced in the prosperous life Qatari people live.

The conditions for obtaining a Qatari work contract, or resident's permit (also known as a resident's visa) can be unclear for those who dream to become expatriates in the country. It is also not easy to understand the process for obtaining a " Resident Allowed " (term which indicates the residence permit in Qatar) or to dread the rules of the sponsor. Wether you have a diploma or not, work in Qatar in 2017 is within the reach of all, especially that football World Cup 2022 is coming soon. International labor market has changed, and Qatar offers very good career opportunities tothose who know how to seize them.

The procedures to obtain a working visa for Qatar:

The procedures can be difficult and discouraging for the candidates for the expatriation in Qatar. However, when you get familiar with the habits and customs of the country, there is no reason that things will go badly. To be able to work in Qatar, you will need a working visa and a residence permit. There are two steps you should go through before you get your working visa:

Step one:

For a person, who wants to work in Qatar, finding what it is called a sponsor is necessary. That is a local employer who wishes to hire him/her and who will guarantee his/her salary.

But before finding a sponsor, you need first to find a job. There are many specialzed websites that post jobs in Qatar and in the middle east. Thus, you need to be updated to whatever is published on those websites if you really want to be hired by an employer in Qatar.

After you find a job and a sponsor, the latter will follow the administrative laws governing everyday life in Qatar, such as: opening a bank account for you, or renting an apartment for you, if he doesn not provide it himself. Then, your sponsor or employer will launch the procedure with the Qatari Home Office.

Note: Without a sponsor, it is impossible to work in Qatar.

Step two:

After you have found a sponsor, you wil be given a 3-month visa to go in Qatar. And if the your employer adjusts the last details for the obtaining of the working visa, it will be necessary to undertake blood tests and a medical examination, to assure the host country that you are free of contagious diseases.

Notes:

* If you want to change your work after you arrive in Qatar and apply for another job, you should know that you have to work for your sponsor for at least at two years, before you can make any job change.

* If you want to bring your spouse and children to Qatar, then they should be sponsored by the same employer who sponsored you.
