Visa Information For Czech Republic


This article is about a beautiful country in Europe, which is one of the best tourism destinations in the world. This country is the Czech Republic. A lot people like to visit the country and enjoy its natural wonders and delicious foods. To be able to travel to Czech Republic, you need, first, a valid passport, and second you may need a visa too.


Requirements for passports:

All applicants have to have a valid passport except for the people native of the following countries: Germany, Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Denmark, Spain, Finland, France, Gibraltar, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Netherlands, Romania, The United Kingdom, and Sweden. Nationals of those countries can present another document of identity than the passport.

Passport validity: beyond the duration of the planned stays for visas of 90 days from the date of entrance to Czech Republic, and, at least, 455 days for visas of more than 90 days. For citizens of countries, who do not need a visa, the passport must be valid during 90 days beyond the duration of the planned stay. 



Minors are authorized to travel on the passports of their parents until 15 years.


Requirements for visas:

Citizens of the following countries do not need a visa when they come to Czech Republic as tourists: 

Germany, Andorra, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bolivia, Brazil, Brunei, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, South Korea, North Korea, Costa Rica, Croatia, Denmark, Spain, the United States, Finland, France, Gibraltar, Greece, Guatemala, Honduras, Hong-Kong, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Macao, Malaysia, Malta, Mexico, Monaco, Nicaragua, New Zealand, Panama, Paraguay, Netherlands, Romania, The United Kingdom, San Marino, Holy See, El Salvador, Sweden, Switzerland, Uruguay, Venezuela. 

Documents needed to apply for a visa to Czech Republic:

A/ Tourist visa:

1- Application form.


2- One (01) passport-size photo. 

3- Proof of sufficient funds for the period of the stay in Czich Republic.

4- Payment of visa fees.


5- A stamped envelope with your address on it for the registrations by mail.


B/ Student Visa: It costs 60 EUR.



- You should have a letter of confirmation from the school, college, or university, confirming that you are a student and also confirming the availability of the accommodation.


Remark: There is no expenses of visa for the nationals of Japan or for the children under age 15.

  1. For visitors wanting to visit the Czech Republic getting a visitor visa is a necessity. But you can opt for having a Schengen visa if you only wanted to visit the country for few days and travel in the other neighboring countries at the same time.
